This workshop will convene researchers from academia, industry, and government labs to assess the current state and near-term potential of quantum computing for engineering disciplines that includes civil, mechanical, materials, and advanced manufacturing. The workshop will focus on research and development to achieve tangible benefits of quantum computing in solving engineering problems that involve differential equations, multiscale and multi-physics mechanics, optimization problems, and uncertainty quantification related to the aforementioned disciplines. Participants will identify short-term application areas with concrete engineering impact, define challenge problems, and build a community roadmap that accelerates quantum computing-enabled engineering.Â
